Don't you just love holidays?!?!?! The preparation, the rushing, the eating, the eating, the eating???!!!
McMurray Easter was held on Saturday, 4/7 at mom and dad's. A little change of pace, mom made BBQ chicken and pork steaks, baked potatoes, salad, baked beans, deviled eggs - too bad it was FREEZING cold. She actually had to grill everything the day before when it was a little bit warmer. Saturday was pretty cold -way below normal for this time of year. Didn't matter to the kids, though. Corey got lots of fun stuff - chocolate and army guys and trinkets and Tribout's toys and money from the Great Grandparents. He spent most of the day playing with a ridiculous rubber like blow up ball that mom got him that was so annoying! It looked like the puffer fish from Finding Nemo, only it was just a ball, but he would blow it up, then let the air out, then blow it up, let the air out - over and over and over!
I tried to get pictures, but my adorable son is in that stage where when he sees the camera pointed at him, he wants to make some goofy face. He'll stick his tongue out, or tilt his head to the side and cross his eyes, or open up his eyes real wide like he's just seen a ghost. I have so many pictures of that, someday when I look back it's going to look like he was constantly frightened!
Maddy was cute as ever, running around smiling and tackling Corey from time to time. I can't believe how much she has grown. Corey just adores her - and you just can't resist that smile she has!
We stayed around after Jeff and Jen and the grandparents left and hung out with mom and dad, watching the baseball game and hockey game (both of which were lost by our teams!). We ordered pizza and sat around and got a kick out of Corey watching himself eat in the mirror in mom's china cabinet. he would take a bite of his food, very exaggerated, and chew while watching his reflection, then turn his head to see what he looks like sideways - it was funny. Then he would talk and watch every movement that his mouth and head would make - almost like he was enrolled in some acting class or something!
We got home about 9:00 - Corey fell asleep in the car on the way home. He was so out of it, he barely even woke up when we changed him into his pj's for bed. Although, he did wake up long enough to give kisses and hugs goodnight.
