Corey has been doing really good at Archery. Last week, he got another medal - this time for shooting 200 points. He's now a Bowman. He won't get any more medals unless he moves to the back line and shoots from a further distance - he'll need some practice with that, but overall, he's pretty good at the front line.
He really enjoys going with Jerry, and Jerry gets a kick out of it too. This is the first sport that they have done together that Jerry is able to coach him on without screaming or getting frustrated with (not like hockey). He has the patience with this, and they just really get along well at practice and at lessons. I'm glad they have finally found something to do together that they both enjoy.
I think once Corey is a little older, they will be able to shoot guns with the same enthusiasm - they have done it a few times at Uncle Dan's, but it's just so hard to get over there because of the distance.
Today will be his first time shooting with his glasses, I hope he does okay. The guys are going to go a little early to get some practice in to get him adjusted. Dr. Kempf tried to tell Jerry that he needed to switch Corey to be a left handed shooter, but Jerry wasn't having none of that! He shoots so well now, I can only hope that fixing that right eye is only going to make him shoot even better.
